Out of the Mouth of Babes

It was very interesting to visit Idlewood Elementary. It was especially wonderful to see and speak with the children. They had a lot to share! It was amazing to see their personalities shining through a they asked and answered questions. It was also a to see the views they had on schooling and teachers. The comment that stood out to me the most was, “You have to be a little mean so that the we will listen to you.” I wondered if the child who made this comment actually meant mean or did she mean firm? And if she meant mean I wonder what made her feel that that way. What are your thoughts?
